Created by NKU faculty Julie Mader-Meersman, Randel Plowman, and Julia Sebastian from Visual Arts in the NKU School of the Arts.

The fun, illustrated booklet will include activities scaled for different ages (grades 2nd-5th suggested) spanning:

1) an overview of significant and lesser-known civil rights figures

2) a reflective self-portrait activity that asks children to think about what gifts they have to offer society

3) an activity page with age-appropriate suggestions for how to reach out to others in their lives/communities

4) allows students to engage with MLK Jr. Day in a fun-spirited, empathy-forming activity

This activity zine can be used by teachers in their classroom, community organizations, or in the home for an educational family activity.
