Just as climate change does not impact every nation the same, it also does not impact every local neighborhood the same. Groundwork Ohio River Valley (GORV) and Green Umbrella, two leading environmental organizations in the Greater Cincinnati region, manage the “Climate Safe Dashboard” for the region. NKU Biology Professor Kristy Hopfensperger and students, Zoe Robles and Connor Viox, are working with GWORV to engage residents in climate solutions for three of Northern Kentucky’s urban core cities: Covington, Newport and Dayton. The team hosted community workshops to engage neighbors with the "Climate Dashboard" data and discuss vulnerabilities. Users will be able to search for data related to their specific neighborhood. Communities will move forward working on solutions to being more climate resistant. She and her collaborators will guide us through their findings, as well as how to access and use them.

Climate Safe Neighborhoods
Biography
As a kid in rural West Virginia, Tiffany cared for her herd of goats and enjoyed the outdoors. These experiences led to a lifelong devotion to conservation, including land conservancy work, where Tiffany developed her GIS mapping skills. After receiving an MS in Environmental Studies with a GIS certification from Ohio University, Tiffany was hired as the GIS Analyst for Groundwork ORV where she uses her GIS skills to improve people's lives and the environment. Tiffany is guided by the belief that everyone has a right to a clean and enjoyable environment and that past environmental injustices must be rectified.
