If you build it, will they come? Success & lessons learned in attracting and retaining in-demand cybersecurity incident responders--post-pandemic.

Abstract

Attracting and retaining qualified cybersecurity analysts was a pre-pandemic challenge and it continues to be an opportunity that has only been exasperated by the Great Resignation; however, there are more than a few organizations that have successfully navigated through this recruitment, hiring, and retention morass.

This session quickly reviews the HR challenges that every hiring cybersecurity manager has experienced over the past 3-4 years, presents lessons learned from one local company that has successfully navigated its way to fully staffing its new, Cincinnati-based, 24x7, Global Security Operations Center, and discusses the tactical and strategic steps we all can take to address the shortfalls in finding and growing the next generation of cybersecurity superstars.
